Dr. Aizhana Dzhumalieva, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communications, has been appointed representative of Central Asia to the Technical Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO). Her participation in the ICRCC 2024 conference reflects her desire to build professional ties and actively participate in the international dialogue on topical health issues. At the ICRCC-2024 plenary session, Dr. Dzhumalieva acted as a panelist at the "Thinking Together" session, where, together with WHO representatives, practitioners and researchers, the need to bring scientific data closer to real actions in emergency situations was discussed. Her presentation focused on the problems of Central Asia, focusing on the importance of bridging the gap between theory and practice, which is a key aspect of the conference. In addition, Dr. Dzhumalieva presented a project entitled "A Matter of Life and Health: Risk and Crisis of Air Pollution in Bishkek", in which she presented the results of a joint study with Professor Amiso George from Texas Christian University (TCU). After participating in the conference, Dr. Dzhumalieva strengthened ties in the international scientific community and is determined to further study the crisis problems of healthcare in Kyrgyzstan.
