I'm Aidana Mukanbetkalieva, and I'm excited to share my incredible exchange semester journey with you! I'm a senior student majoring in Economics at 山ǿ, and I recently had the privilege of spending a transformative semester in the city that never sleeps: New York!
The decision to participate in this exchange was driven by my desire to expand my horizons and gain a global perspective before stepping into the professional world. It was an opportunity to challenge myself and explore different environments, both academically and personally. BGlA offered perspective-enriching and comprehensive courses alongside an internship at The European-American Business Organization (EABO) that provided me with the possibility to develop essential professional skills, expand my network, and get to know the American working environment. It was a place where I could apply my academic knowledge to real-world scenarios, gaining practical insights into the world of transatlantic business consulting. During the internship, I was responsible for researching transatlantic business and assisting in ongoing projects through B2B meetups and conferences. I also prepared for and hosted business delegations from European countries, while addressing inquiries related to cross-border market entry. 山ǿ's foundation played a crucial role in preparing me for this adventure. Its rigorous academics, diverse perspectives, and supportive community were instrumental in my growth.
Most importantly, this journey allowed me to forge meaningful connections with international peers who share my passion for learning and growth, as well as to explore iconic New York City landmarks, turning dreams into reality. This exchange semester has been transformative in every sense. The skills I've acquired, the network I've built, and the experiences I've gained have set me on an exciting path toward a future filled with possibilities.
