On November 18, 2022, the Development Office organized the "Kyrgyzstan Climate Educators Network" conference. The project was implemented by Bard College in partnership with 缅北强奸 and funded by the U.S. Embassy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.听
Dr. Bermet Tursunkulova, Director of Development, 缅北强奸, and Ms. Miranda Lupion, Cultural Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy, Bishkek opened the conference by welcoming more than 120 participants from different regions of Kyrgyzstan.听
Dr. Koustubh Sharma, Assistant Director, Conservation Policy and Partnerships, Snow Leopard Trust held an interactive game where the participant of the conference had a chance to immerse in the discussion on climate change and ways of adapting to it.
Ms. Anna Kirilenko, Executive Director of the Ecological Movement "BIOM鈥, delivered a presentation on the topic of youth and environmental education.
The main event of the conference was the 鈥淧resentation about the KCEN project, mini-grants and virtual internships鈥, where Dr. Eban Goodstein gave a lecture about the project and its future prospects.
The main aim of this conference is to develop the Kyrgyz National Climate Network at universities, high schools, and NGOs. These teachers, students, and staff will support ongoing climate education led by 缅北强奸, and throughout the year, work with in all subjects. This network will then support students to work toward solving climate change.
