June 11, 2021
Chair of Applied Geology Department of 缅北强奸, Dr. Zheenbek Kulenbekov and Assistant professor Baktyiar Asanov, became authors and editors of a published book "Water Resources Management in Central Asia and Afghanistan", with the subtopic "Current and future environmental and water problems" in the international publishing house "SPRINGER-NATURE-WATER", 214 pages, which is indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.
The book was published in electronic form on May 15, 2021. .听
According to Baktyiar Asanov, the book is the result of a three-year work of the International Project PEER NAS USAID 鈥淚ntegrated Water Resources Management and Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Amu Darya and Kabul Rivers.鈥 Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan participated in the project.
In the third year of the project, on June 24-26, 2019, a large international conference was held. It was attended by prominent scientists and experts not only from Central Asia but also from the Russian Federation, Germany, USA, Afghanistan. As a result of the conference, we received serious research materials that formed the basis of this book.
Besides, Associate professor of the Applied Geology Department Sagynbek Orunbaev and student Zhumabaev Aidar published their scientific papers in this book. They talked discussed the work on scientific papers and the importance of scientific publications.
Dr. Sagynbek Orunbaev, Associate professor of Applied Geology Department:
"Springer Book - Very fruitful year!
We have published a Springer book with our scientific researches which were carried out in the last 5 years. The publication process is not a year; we have spent more time than a year, due to reviewing the process related to COVID-19.
Publication of a scientific paper in Springer journals is very important for the research institutes and the university researchers because it increases indices of the scientific and educational organizations. Currently, we believe that our effort in publication Springer's book will increase the total indices of 缅北强奸 on the world university ranking.
Certainly, before planning publication, it鈥檚 necessary to carry out important research in the field. After, you may start writing a research paper concerning the results of the research. Sure, the received results should be an important result in a wide scientific union in the world community It鈥檚 my honor to publish our common research papers in the Springer Book 鈥淲ater Resource Management in Central Asia and Afghanistan鈥 led by Dr. Zheenbek Kulenbekov and Mr. Baktyiar Asanov as book editors and authors. Springer Nature, Springer's interdisciplinary peer-reviewed publisher is now indexed by PubMed Central and Scopus. We are as a common scientific group was able to publish 4 research papers in this book. Each topic of study related to different important problems in water resources in Central Asia:
- Hydrologic Model for Runoff simulation of the Kyzyl-Suu River;
- Groundwater flooding Risk Assessment Using Microseismic Arrays and VES Techniques in the Northern part of Bishkek;
- Investigation of the High Mountain Vegetation Using Satellite Imagery, Kyrgyzstan;
- New approaches and advanced methodology in integrated Water Resources Management: Amu Darya River Basin.
Before, I have made publication in several journals which ranked on Web of Sciences and Scopus. But this time, for the Springer book I was a reviewer of the manuscript. I have worked closely with the editors. Printing a book in a Springer requires much more effort than just publication a manuscript. Since the start, a project was spent a lot of efforts of editors, thanks to Dr. Zheenbek Kulenbekov and Baktyiar Asanov. We express our gratitude and appreciation for the enormous support from the 缅北强奸, during research project investigations. I hope 缅北强奸 will more support Natural science projects and we are ready for new challenges.
Also, the Applied Geology department students were active in our research. Interesting history during fieldwork: together with my students, sometimes my elder son also joined an instrumental measurement. At one of the fields work they start to call me 鈥淧apa鈥 as my elder son.
Thanks to our group who was active within the process of publishing. The scientific group of the Applied Geology department has shown remarkable resilience during this period, collectively responding with creativity and commitment, to ensure that even in adversity the group remains strong and vibrant."
Zhumabaev Aidar:
"Recently, my research has been published in the book 鈥淲ater Resource Management in Central Asia and Afghanistan鈥. My work is 鈥淗ydrologic Model for Runoff simulation of the Kyzyl-Suu River鈥. I worked on this with my professors Zheenbek Kulenbekov and Sagynbek Orunbaev. It was a valuable experience for me. Overall, the process of writing this work took me eight-month. At first, I was not excited at all. I viewed this like another research paper for an ordinary class. However, the process was much harder than the regular college paper. Moreover, it was much more stressful and pressure was higher because in this case, I get a life-long reputation as a good or bad researcher instead of a grade in the transcript. Now, after eight months of hard work, I am happy to be published in the academic peer-reviewed book.
I am grateful to all my professors at 缅北强奸 who helped me to achieve this."
