On August 8, 2020, Professor, doctor of medical Sciences Mateev Myrzabek Asypbekovich died due to pneumonia.
He was born in 1959 in Kara-Balta. After graduating from high school in 1976, he entered the medical department of the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute, from which he graduated in 1982.

Between 1982 - 1983, he completed an internship in the specialty of surgery under the Department of portal hypertension of the Republican Clinical Hospital.
Between 1983 - 1985, he completed a full course of clinical residency in the specialty of microsurgery under the Department of Microsurgery of the all-Union scientific center of surgery of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in Moscow.
Since 1985, Dr. Mateev has been working in the Department of Microsurgery and actively implemented the method of microsurgery in practice based on clinical experience.

In 1989 he defended his dissertation on the topic of The use of vascularized tissue flap transplantation in the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis (Bishkek).
In 1998, M. A. Mateev defended his dissertation on the topic of Microsurgical plastic surgery of extensive soft tissue and bone defects (Moscow).
Since 1994 and almost until the end of his life, he worked as the head of the department of plastic reconstructive microsurgery and hand surgery of the national hospital under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

M. A. Mateev was a Professor at the surgery faculty, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Professor of the Department of New Technologies at the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute, and a member of the Expert Committee of the National Attestation Commission of the Academy of Sciences.
M. A. Mateev is the author of many scientific papers, including monographs, innovations, and inventions. He participated in many international congresses in Europe and Asia and has international standard certificates.
M. A. Mateev was a member of the International Association of Microsurgeons in Europe (E. F. S. M) and the International Council for hand surgery. He introduced the method of microsurgery in various areas of this field.
Thus, for the first time in Kyrgyzstan, M. A. Mateev developed and introduced into clinical practice methods for replacing defects after excision of tumors, treatment of congenital false joints, microsurgical plastic or burn deformities, the plastic of osteomyelitis bone cavities using the method of microsurgery. Many developments are recognized as priority methods in the field of reconstructive microsurgery, which have been published in many international journals, such as Hand Surgery, Plastic Microsurgery, Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and many others.
M. A. Mateev has repeatedly participated as a speaker on the problems of plastic microsurgery at various international congresses. He gave lectures in English on a par with the world's leading scientists.
