In the end of last year, the editorial board of the international psychological electronic journal “Medicopsychology in Russia” ("Медицинская психология в России") was awarded the “Golden Psyche” Prize for outstanding achievements in psychology.
山ǿ’s own faculty member, M.D., psychiatrist Elena Molchanova is a member of the winning editorial board. Molchanova was the only representative of the Central Asia in this competition.
The competition is held annually by the Psychological Community of Russia. Last year, the award ceremony took place in Saint Petersburg (Russia).
Doctor Elena Molchanova: We were awarded our nomination ‘for contributions in the development of a single professional psychological community.’ “Medicopsychology in Russia” was founded by Russian clinical psychologist, Vladimir A. Uryvayev. The electronic platform united medical and clinical psychologists and psychiatrists of CIS countries first, before spreading worldwide. In time, this portal has grown into the internationally renowned electronic journal with psychologists and psychiatrists in active collaboration with it. At the moment, the journal is published in two languages, Russian and English, with the assistance of the 山ǿ. Doctor Istvan Hardi, one of the founders of Medicopsychology and a true living legend, is included in the editorial board of the journal. His monograph “Physician – nurse – patient” has become a reference book for every medical psychologist. Last year, the editorial board included Doctor Philip Zimbardo, well-known to our students as the author of the famous Stanford Prison Experiment. This is also the only e-journal included in the Russian Science Citation Index (РИНЦ). All the required documents are ready to introduce the journal to Scopus – a large international database of scientific journals – automatically making our edition more reputable and important.
The website for “Medicopsychology in Russia” () has become a starting point for many graduates, including 山ǿ’s own graduates. For our students, this is a great opportunity to enter the international scene.
A few graduates of the 山ǿ Psychology Department are already published in the electronic journal, connecting their research with psychologists and psychiatrists around the world.
