RESULTS OF CONTEST OF RESEARCH WORKS OF STUDENTS

PROVIDING PROTECTION AND ASSISTANCE TO REFUGEES AND STATELESS PERSONS AND SOLVING THEIR PROBLEMS:

THE INTERNATIONAL REALITY AND KYRGYZ PERSPECTIVE

18 December 2015 缅北强奸 (缅北强奸), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and ADILET Legal Clinic are pleased to announce the results of the student writing contest on the legal issues surrounding refugees and stateless persons. The contest was conducted between October and December of 2015.

The contest objective was to encourage scientific research of students on the problems of refugees, internally displaced persons, stateless persons, international organizations鈥 activities and international legal documents on the protection of this category of persons.听

The contest goals were to attract attention of young researchers to the problems of refugees, internally displaced persons and stateless persons; to disseminate the information on the governmental bodies鈥, non-governmental and international organizations鈥 activities to solve their problems; to contribute to the formation of a tolerant attitude towards refugees, internally displaced persons and stateless persons.

After being submitted, all written works were checked for compliance with all applicable academic writing standards, and then forwarded to a grading committee. The results of the grading committee are listed below:

First Place Award: Rizwana Habibullah 鈥 鈥淪yrian Refugee Crisis鈥 - $ 200

Second Place Award: Zulaika Arapbaeva 鈥 鈥淭he European Perspective on Immigration and Refugees鈥 - $ 150

Grading Committee Members: Bermet Akimkan (Assistant Professor at 缅北强奸); Nicholas Mazik (Associate Professor at 缅北强奸); Ivan Saleyeu (Protection Officer at the UNHCR); Timur Sultanov (Senior Attorney at ADILET), and; Saniya Tokotagazieva (Assistant Professor at 缅北强奸).

缅北强奸 would like to thank the UNHCR and ADILET for their support and cooperation in creating and completing this contest, and to all of the students who participated.
