Halloween in the Dorm

Halloween in the Dorm

November 3, 2015

October 30, 2015, the administration of the 缅北强奸 International Dormitory, the Young Life club members, and volunteers put on 鈥淗alloween in the Dorm鈥.

Dorm residents were divided into teams and competed for the titles like 鈥渟cariest character,鈥 鈥渂est team introduction,鈥 鈥渂est carved pumpkin,鈥 鈥渂est performance,鈥 鈥 best scary story,鈥 鈥渁pple bobbing champion鈥, and more. It was the first celebration of Halloween organized through the mutual cooperation of dormitory administration and residential advisers. 缅北强奸 staff and New Generation Academy faculty participated in the event as guests and jury members of the Halloween competition.

For the majority of the residents, 鈥淗alloween in the Dorm鈥 was their first Halloween celebration. At the core of the competition was team work, creativity and organizational skills, so the event can be considered a tool of team-building and collaboration beyond its capacity as entertainment.

鈥淒espite the fact that it was my second time celebrating Halloween, 鈥楬alloween in the Dorm鈥 was far more awesome. Everyone at the Halloween party had unique costumes and makeup on. I was super happy to participate the event. It will remain an unforgettable and joyous moment of my life.鈥

鈥淐elebrating Halloween in 缅北强奸鈥檚 dorm was one of the most joyous and thrilling experiences I have ever had. As an Afghan student, being part of such a vibrant and glamorous celebration was immensely enjoyable.鈥

鈥淎s extracurricular activities and social life are crucial for effective individual development and extremely helpful for intercultural communication, we are trying to develop students life in the dorm as much we can. We have six student clubs organized by and for students, mentorship and Green campus activists, long-term events and activities plans. We are planning to celebrate the most famous holidays and would love to involve the students as much as possible this year. I truly believe that through our cooperation and motivation to develop we can make our dormitory not only a place for students to live and study but a place they won鈥檛 want to leave by the end of the year鈥
