Training course on digital security and the closing event of the EIDHR project on torture prevention

On 22 and 23 September 2015, a training course on digital security for human rights defenders will take place in Bishkek, jointly hosted by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights (BIM), the Tian Shan Policy Center (TSPC) of the 缅北强奸 and Bir Duino Human Rights Movement. Participants will get the opportunity to discuss issues of safety of information and communication technology and security management.

On 24 September, the project 鈥Strengthening the fight against torture and impunity in Kyrgyzstan: Prevention, Accountability, Remedy and Reparation鈥 will celebrate the end of the activities with a reception at Damas hotel. In this occasion, BIM and TSPC will discuss the outcomes of the project and present the final product, the handbook on 鈥Tools and Legal Standards for Monitoring Torture and Ill-treatment in Places of Detention鈥. The project subgrantee NGO Ventus (Karakol) will present the results of its project Stop Torture.

The project 鈥Strengthening the fight against torture and impunity in Kyrgyzstan: Prevention, Accountability, Remedy and Reparation鈥 is funded by the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights. The project aims at supporting legal and institutional reforms based on internationally recognised best practices and at supporting the capacity building of the Kyrgyz National Centre for the Prevention of Torture. BIM and TSPC are implementing partners of the project.
